One sunny afternoon, a young girl named Alice sat by the riverbank, listening to her sister read a very dull book. “Stories without pictures or conversations? How boring!” Alice sighed. Just then, a fluffy white rabbit in a waistcoat scurried past, muttering, “Oh dear, oh dear! I’m late!” Curious, Alice leapt up and followed him down a large rabbit hole.

She tumbled through darkness until—thud!—she landed in a hallway lined with tiny doors. On a glass table sat a golden key and a bottle labeled DRINK ME. “How peculiar!” Alice giggled, sipping the sweet potion. To her amazement, she shrank to the size of a mouse! The key fit a tiny door now, but alas, she’d left it on the table. “What a silly mix-up!” she said, spotting a cake labeled EAT ME. One nibble later, she grew tall as a tree!

Just as tears welled in her eyes, the Cheshire Cat appeared—a grinning, striped creature floating like smoke. “Lost, are we?” he purred. “Everyone here is mad, you know. But let’s see… Follow the laughter!” With a wink, he vanished, leaving his grin hanging mid-air.

Alice wandered until she heard giggles and clinking teacups. Under a giant mushroom, the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and Dormouse were having a tea party. “No room!” shouted the Hatter, though the table was empty. “It’s always teatime here,” explained the Hare. “We’ve quarreled with Time, you see!” Alice joined them, sipping peppermint tea while they riddled her with nonsense: “Why is a raven like a writing desk?”

Before she could answer, the Queen of Hearts stormed in, shouting, “Off with their heads!” Her guards—playing-card soldiers—marched behind. “Who are you?” the Queen glared at Alice. “I’m just… exploring,” Alice stammered. “Nonsense! Let’s play croquet!”

The game was chaos: flamingos as mallets, hedgehogs as balls, and soldiers bending into hoops. Every time the Queen missed a shot, she yelled, “Off with their heads!” But the Cheshire Cat’s grin reappeared, whispering, “Don’t worry—she never remembers who to punish!”

Exhausted, Alice slipped away and found herself at the tiny door again. This time, she drank from the bottle, shrank, and crawled through… only to wake up in her sister’s lap! “You’ve been dreaming,” her sister laughed. Alice smiled, knowing Wonderland’s magic would stay in her heart forever.

As the stars twinkled above, Alice’s mother tucked her into bed. “What a curious adventure,” she said, kissing her forehead. And with that, Alice drifted to sleep, dreaming of floating teapots, singing flowers, and a cat who loved riddles.
